The Brooklin Spring Fair

The carnival is in town for the weekend (celebrating 100 years!) so Greg and I checked it out last night.

Greg had never been the the Brooklin Spring Fair so this was all new to him. First we grabbed some dinner from one of the fry trucks then for dessert Greg ordered deep fried butter. Personally, I was disgusted by the idea of eating butter that had been deep fried. But if it's deep fried and bad for you, Greg is bound to love it! We met 2 nice couples while waiting in line and once Greg said the butter balls were good, I decided to try one. Surprisingly they were good! Since they were deep fried in funnel cake batter it just tasted like a pancake with melted butter. If you ever get the chance to try it I recommend you do so! Just make sure it's done in funnel cake batter, not the American type where they deep fry a stick of butter in more of a beer batter.

We then walked around the fair and watched blacksmiths make horseshoes, took pictures of the rides all lit up and watched the demolition derby.

We might head back to the fair on Saturday when they have more events like the craft show and carriage races... and probably get some more deep fried butter while we're at it! Plus I'd like to try and play a few games, maybe win a prize if I'm lucky!

Tonight however will be spent making a bridal shower cake for Greg's cousin who I've never met. Time to put my apron on!
