Oh hai blog. Long time no talk!

Sorry I've been neglecting my blog for so long guys. I decided I would take an unannounced hiatus for the Holidays and I'm thinking of extending it until I get more organized for my move to Florida. So my apologies if you don't hear from me for a while. (If you want to keep in touch you can follow me on twitter)

However the point of this post is not to give excuses for my absence but instead to wish a very special someone Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday to my wonderful boyfriend Greg! ♥ ♥ ♥ It was 3 years ago today at my New Years Party that we really got a chance to talk and I knew in that moment we would end up together. I hope you have a magical birthday hun, I love you!

And to everyone else, I hope you have a super awesome New Year too!

Be safe and have a blast because this is the last year we're going to get! (haha, I kid, I kid, I don't believe in that crazy impending doom prophecy.)

On Tuesday night Greg and I were looking for a way to get in the Christmas spirit because the lack of snow has me a bit bummed out. So we hopped in the car, drove around town to look at Christmas lights, and we came across this fantastic house on Mary Street!

There was so much to see on their lawn but I didn't want to look like a creeper taking pictures of their house for too long. haha

We then spent the rest of the night baking gingerbread cookies and watching old-school Christmas movies my parents taped on VHS when I was a kid like 'A Walt Disney Christmas' and 'Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer'.

As for today, I'm off to my friend's "It's beginning to look a lot like... Halloween?" party. Why the hell are we having a Halloween party in December you ask? Well my friend was too busy this year to have her Halloween party so she's making up for it now by having a party where we come dressed in Halloween costumes, but the place is decorated for Christmas. To me it's like a real life occurrence of the Nightmare Before Christmas! (AWESOME!)

I'll try and take some pictures to show you how it turns out! As for right now, I need to find a costume to wear!

Hey lovelies! I got a new battery charger as an early birthday gift from Greg (♥!!!) so here come the long overdue festive photos! I can't believe Christmas is only 7 days away, but what I really can't believe is that we're still in the positive temperatures where I live! What's up with that Ontario?! I was hoping for a white Christmas before I left for Florida.

Confession: nothing on this tree is over 5 years old, but we're calling it our nostalgic tree because everything on it reminds us of the Christmas trees we had growing up. (If you look closely you will see Mater from the Cars movie in the first picture)

A few Christmas cards from our friends and family. I LOVE the beagle one Sheri got me! It's howling just like Bailey (my beagle) does.

This picture of Toby melts my heart! Isn't he adorable sitting in front of the tree with that little head tilt?

And this is our massive 9ft tree where we keep all the presents! Even when standing on a chair I can't reach the top so I had to stand on a chair and use kitchen tongs to hang the really high ornaments. Trust me it was a hilarious sight to see.

As for my days, they've been filled with present wrapping, baking and lots of old Christmas movies. You know, the usual holiday stuff. I've been making a lot of progress on my gifts too. Only 3 more to make and I'm done for this year!

The other week I discovered an amazing tumblr that combines two of my favourite things, Disney and Vintage. I think you'll really enjoy...

Tis the season to be jolly and this week's favourites have definitely given me a laugh or two.

Surviving the World is one of my favourite websites because this guy is so clever. His posts are all written on a chalkboard in this format and they range from witty comments to made up math formulas to prove everyday topics such as the swearocity of a word. He's a funny guy so you should check it out!

Have you ever made a JibJab greeting card for Christmas? They are HILARIOUS! Last night I re-kindled my love for them and made this card of me, Greg and Toby for Greg and I made another one with the 9th, 10th and 11th Doctors for my other friends. They're seriously a riot!

Last night's Community episode had me laughing pretty hard. 1. because they were mocking Glee (I love Glee but this was hilarious) 2. Because they kept taking jabs at NBC and

3. Because the study group broke into musicals the entire time. Did anyone else watch this?

My sisters and I were going to take a tacky Christmas photo for the parents this year but I don't know if we could ever compete with this. You barely even notice the goat in her lap because of everything else going on in the picture. Too funny. (source)

Friday's Favourite Things

Last night I had an overwhelming urge to style my hair in a 40's fashion so here are the results. It's my first time ever doing it, so I'd say it turned out fairly well. There's still a lot I can improve on but for a first attempt I'm pretty proud.

Then, just for fun I tossed on some red lipstick and eyeliner to add to the glamorous old Hollywood look. Tada! You'll have to excuse the crappy webcam pictures though. All my cameras are dead and I can't find the chargers! Oops!

I've been dreaming of dying my hair a fun colour as a sort of last hurrah before I work for Disney. Back in the day I used to rock the hot pink and purple hair, but lately I've been stuck in a hum-drum of auburn and brown. So here are some of the pictures I'm looking to for inspiration.
