Printic Review
3 weeks ago I stumbled upon the Printic app and thought I'd give it a go. I know there are lots of places you can order instagram prints from, but I thought I'd give this one a chance because they are from France and I adored the cute orange envelope the prints came in. (I know, these are super random reasons for picking this app, but that's how my brain works!) Anyways, I must say I was pleasantly surprised with the outcome despite a few hiccups along the way. But more on that later!
First let me give a brief description of what this app does. Basically it takes your instagram and facebook photos and turns them into cool polaroid photos for you to enjoy. It's super easy and the prints are mailed out within a couple days of your order. If you want to customize your prints you can add type, and if you want to surprise someone they have options for you to mail them straight to your friends! How great would that be for birthdays or as a way to show a friend you were thinking of them? I think one day I'm going to mail some out to my international friends as a way to just say hi!
After playing with the app for a while, I was finally able to narrow my photo choices down to 10. The app itself is super easy to navigate and you could be done ordering your own prints in less than 5 minutes! Of course, being me, I have the worst luck of anyone I know so every time I would try to place my order the app would crash. I tried 7 times before I decided to stop being stubborn and e-mail their support team. I was AMAZED to get an email back within 10 minutes. Talk about customer service right?! A wonderful person named Cecile helped me out by pretty much resetting my account. The Printic team were even super nice and gave me 2 free credits for the hassle! What! That meant 2 free pictures! AWESOME! The moment after my account was reset it worked like a charm and bada-bing, bada-boom my prints were ordered and a confirmation for their shipping came the next day!
So I waited patiently for my prints to come because I was excited to see how they would look. I checked the mail every other day but after 2 weeks it seemed like they had got lost in translation. So again I emailed Printic's customer service and tada! There was Cecile to save the day again! (Honestly, Cecile is a superhero!) Turns out I contacted them at the perfect time because their policy waits 15 days just in case the photos show up a little later than their 3-5 day advertisement. I didn't mind waiting though because all the great customer service I had received made me have faith that my photos would find their way to me. But just to be sure, like I said before, I emailed to see what I should do. Without any hesitation Cecile confirmed with me my mailing address and said they would send a new batch of photos for free. AWESOME!
4 days later I received my prints and I couldn't be happier! They are a great size, and have a nice glossy finish. Not to mention at 99 cents per photo plus FREE delivery it's not going to break the bank.
Based on the customer service alone, I know I'll order more prints from Printic in the future! I love how they turned out and I can't wait to get them up on my wall! Here's a little bit of advice though, in my experience it's best to use instagram photos because the ones I used from facebook came out a bit blurry. I think it's because of the scaling. But like I said, if you use your instagram photos they will turn out perfect (and let's be serious, instagram photos are better suited for this type of polaroid photo anyways.)
So yes, overall I'm giving this app two thumbs up and a super high-five for Cecile!
Have you tried Printic yet? If so, what did you think?
