July Mixtape by megan soares on Grooveshark

To me, July should be filled with road trips, camping and relaxing on the patio with a cold drink in your hand! So I tried to incorporate that relaxing feeling into this playlist (plus I just really dig these songs). Enjoy!

I've been listening to a lot of oldies lately because I find no matter what the song is about, it always sounds happy because of the style of music. So here's a short playlist of some of my favourite songs from the 50s, 60s and early 70s because they are so darn catchy!

Today I'm going to introduce you all to Prince Caspian. A talented singer/song writer who I had the pleasure of meeting 4 years ago while I was at Trent. It seems like yesterday I was doing musical theater with him and now look at him! He has his own music video! It's a SUPER catchy song too, so check it out, and if you like it, be sure to check out his other songs because they are KILLER!! (And he has such a swoon worthy voice!)

Also thank you SO much for all the music suggestions on my last post. You guys have really great taste in music!

Before we get started I wanted to remind you all that I'm hosting my first ever blog party! Yay! I know posting about it on a Saturday was a bad idea since most of us are out and about on the weekend, but I was way too excited to share my good news and jumped the gun. So be sure to check out this post!

Alright, now for today's topic of MFTM; Mumford & Sons. This band is my go-to for feel good music because their sound is fantastic and I could listen to Marcus sing for the rest of my life. Seriously. I have a feeling I'll be listening to these guys a lot this fall because their sound goes perfect with the changing of the season. I don't know why but folk music always reminds me of Autumn. Is that weird?

Anyways I hope you enjoy listening to these guys as much as I do! And as a bonus I've included a live track with Laura Marling who also has a stunning voice!

What are some of your favourite songs right now? I'm in desperate need of new music for my playlist, so hook a girl up!

As part of my ongoing Wardrobe Project, I decided to donate some clothes today that I haven't worn in years or that are too small for me. This means two things: 1. I'll have less to sort through at the end of the year and 2. less stuff to pack for my big move on June 9th!

However you can't spend all day stuck in a room cleaning without some motivational music, so I though I'd share my cleaning playlist with you.

Whenever I'm cleaning I always listen to Korean pop music. It's super up-beat and catchy so it gives me lots of energy and keeps me happy during long, boring chores!

What kind of music motivates you, and do you dance around when you're cleaning?

I totally do! haha

P.S. Check out this awesome review Divergent Musings did of the movie Thor. I saw it on Sunday with Greg and agree with everything she wrote in her review. Such a good movie! Mmmm Thor's voice is so sexy.
