The Brooklin Spring Fair
Is anyone else shocked that it's already June? I can't believe it! It feels like we skipped over spring and went straight into summer. But hey, I'm not complaining! I say good riddance to snow, and hello to cute dress weather! June also means The Brooklin Spring Fair rolls into town, which is one of mine and Greg's date night traditions!
If you don't already know, have a serious love of all things circus related. So when a traveling carnival like this comes to town it makes me giddy (even if they don't include death-defying feats and a good 'ol fashion sideshow). That being said, it's still fun to see all the rides lit up and watch the local demolition derby. It also means Greg and I get to indulge on lots of delicious but artery clogging fair food. Of course our usual tradition is poutine for dinner and then we'll grab some deep fried butter for dessert. (I know, deep fried butter sounds gross but they are tiny balls of butter fried in funnel cake batter and topped with icing sugar and caramael/ chocolate/ strawberry/ vanilla sauce so it tastes like a pancake with butter). Trust me, it's not as gross as it sounds.
Of course no evening would complete without a super loud and tacky dress that matches exactly what you're doing. So my favourite Modcloth dress was the perfect choice. Nothing screams carnival like a brightly coloured dress with carnival food all over it!
What did you guys do this weekend?
