This shirt, as cheesy as it is, has so many memories attached to it. Of course the most obvious would be that I love Norway. No I've never actually been to Norway, but I frequently visited their Epcot pavilion on my days off. Mmmm, I miss Norwegian School Bread so much! (my friend Kait and I would have a date day to get these yummy desserts once a week).

Anyways, having spent so much time visiting the pavilion and making friends with the Maelstrom cast members, I can honestly say, Norwegians are high on my list of favourite people in the world. Sure they can party hard, but they are also outgoing, funny and the most loyal friends I could ever have. Many of my favourite Disney memories are a result of hanging out with Norwegians. So that is reason #1 why this shirt means so much to me. (P.S. Happy belated Constitution Day to all my Norwegian friends!)

The second reason of course is this shirt is from Epcot which was my home away from home for over a year. Not a day goes by where I don't miss it. "Post-Disney Depression" as we like to call it, is such a hard thing to overcome when you and your friends are forced to go back to your home countries.

At Disney it was easy to call your friend up and say you'd be over in 10 minutes, however now it's like "Hey! Maybe if I can save up a ton of money I can visit you for a week before I have to go back across the ocean". It's a sad but all to familiar reality. Thankfully Epcot will always be the home that took us all in and made us a family. Without my international friends, I wouldn't be who I am today and I'm truly grateful for that. ♥

Gosh, I'm getting teary eyed just thinking about all the amazing friends I made during my program and how insanely bad I miss them, but I digress. The last reason why I love this shirt is because of how silly it is. I mean, hello, who walks around with a I 'viking helmet' Norge shirt in the everyday world?

Disney World is different though. It has a strange sort of magic where a grown man can walk around in Disney clothing and you don't think anything of it. But once you leave the parks, it becomes socially awkward to be wearing Disney apparel if you're over the age of 9. Nevertheless, this shirt makes me happy so I'm going to continue wearing it. I especially love pairing it with red and yellow because I'm finding myself more and more attracted to this colour combination.

Better late than never right? Here are some shots of what my Halloween looked like!

My friend Chelsea and I went to Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween party on the actual night of Halloween and got in some trick-or-treating, the Boo to You parade and even 2 of the villain shows before the fireworks and closing. The most surprising part of it all? We walked right on to the Haunted Mansion; there was absolutely no line-up! What is this craziness?!

blog lovelymissmegs megan
In case you're wondering I was supposed to be Agent P from Phineas and Ferb. You can't see it but my sweater has Perry's face printed on the hood and a platypus tail on the butt. It's super cute, and was super warm and comfy for such a cold night.
blog lovelymissmegs megan
We met Goofy in his new Circus themed meet and greet area, along with Daisy, Donald and Minnie! I'm really diggin' the new circus theme. I finally rode on Dumbo for the first time in my life that day too!
blog lovelymissmegs megan
Don't worry Pirates wasn't actually on fire.
blog lovelymissmegs megan
The castle was wonderfully lit that night and I HAD to take a picture with a Haunted Mansion cast member. It is my favourite ride after all. Plus they get all dressed up for Halloween!
blog lovelymissmegs megan
Here's the ghost lady who appears and disappears randomly over the course of the night. She's quite a riot.
blog lovelymissmegs megan
We then watched the Boo to You parade which was AMAZING, especially the Haunted Mansion part... but again, I'm biased.
blog lovelymissmegs megan
The ghostly ballroom dancers. The way they moved was actually creepy, as if they were limp corpses.
blog lovelymissmegs megan
Up next was Hallo-wishes which was spectacular! Who doesn't love a firework display dedicated to The Haunted Mansion & The Nightmare Before Christmas?!
blog lovelymissmegs megan
I then had the best moment of my life when I was able to FINALLY meet Flynn Rider. My Disney dream was complete and he was absolutely PERFECT! *swoon* (note: you can only meet Flynn on special occasions at WDW, so this was a big deal!)
blog lovelymissmegs megan
And lastly we ended the night with a meet and greet with Phineas and Ferb where they took my hat off so that I would be transformed from Agent P into Perry, their pet platypus. Phineas also continuously pet my head as if I were his pet.

Overall it was a spectacular night and I was glad I got to go. Thanks to Chelsea for bringing me along, and now onto the Christmas shenanigans! Would you believe it only took 7 days for Disney to transform the parks and get Mickey's Christmas Party in full swing?! I can't wait for the free hot chocolate and fake snow. I will however miss real snow come Christmas time.

Do any of you live in a place where it doesn't snow during Christmas?! How do you get yourselves in the Christmas spirit?

On Friday, August 31st I got to be a part of Disney history! Epcot is counting down 30 days until it's 30th anniversary and this photo marks the start. In this photo are cast members not only from current day Epcot but also from as far back as 30 years ago when it first opened. How cool is that!? Mickey and Minnie dropped by too!

blog lovelymissmegs megan
I've also included the following picture so you don't spend forever playing Where's Waldo trying to find me.

blog lovelymissmegs megan

After the giant group photo all the Canadians headed over to our home and native land (national anthem reference) and took another group photo of just us lumberjacks. Clearly this isn't everyone who works in the pavilion, but the picture required us to wake up at 5:45am so lots of people opted for sleep instead. Not us though!

I love that I get to be a part of cool things like this! My job is so awesome!

Out of the past 7 months I can confidently say that last Monday was the best day of my entire contract. I don't know if I mentioned this on the blog before, but I have become a Disney Trainer which means I train all new Canadian Cast Members plus new coordinators and managers which is a pretty awesome job. Because of this our two Training Managers decided to organize an outing for all the trainers from World Showcase as a thank you for our hard work. (Oh and the best part is we were scheduled for this which meant we were getting paid the whole time! WIN!)

Anyways, first we met at Epcot where our managers surprised us with a ride on Soarin' which is Epcot's most popular ride. At times the line can be 2 hours long, but thanks to our Managers we got to come in the back VIP entrance (the one all the celebs use when visiting) and we skipped the line completely! It was amazing! I had done Soarin' a few times before so the ride itself was not the excitement for me, it was more the experience of hanging out with my friends from other countries all day and getting to skip lines. So I was a very happy gal.

Then the managers herded us on a bus without telling us where we were going. Of course being the nosey cast members that we are we avidly watched the road signs to try and figure it out. Turns out we ended up at Animal Kingdom. From there we hopped on our own private tour of Kilimanjaro Safaris where they told us lots of cool background information that most guests don't get to hear. Then when we thought we were done at the park the Managers lead us over to Expedition Everest which is the big roller coaster at DAK. We were all stoked because again, we got to take up an entire ride and hop on it straight away without having to wait. It was like we were VIPs all day!

After a thrilling ride with the Yeti, we jumped on the bus and our managers told us that we were headed to Magic Kingdom! (So awesome!!!) Once there we were told to grab some Sorcerers cards and run around the park playing Sorcerers for an hour. We played the game for a bit but decided to watch the 3oclock parade instead to try get all the characters to wave back at us (yes, Disney makes you feel and act like you are 5 again). To my surprise a lot of them did wave back and interact with us.

Once our hour was up (and the majority of us were starving) we headed back to Epcot where our managers had pizza and cookies waiting for us... in the VIP lounge at the Seas! WHAT?! That place was so awesome! All the conference rooms had windows into the aquarium and the big lounging area with a baby grand piano also had views into the aquarium. So while eating pizza we got to sit on fancy couches watching sharks and fish swim by. It couldn't have been any cooler! And to top it all off we took a trainer family photo which you can see above.

I've really been fortunate to have such a great experience like this and it's all thanks to my two managers and a group of amazing people.

What's been new and awesome in your lives lately?!

The Best Day of My Disney Adventure

My life for the past 6 months has been nothing but Disney. When I'm not at work, then I'm at the parks. When I'm free to spend my 3 days off doing whatever I want, I choose to work at the Sounds like Summer concert series. My life has been non-stop action day in and day out and one of the main things my job requires me to do is make magic.

Sound cliche? I know. But we have something at work called Magical Moments where you take time out of your busy day, it can be 10 minutes or only a few seconds, but the goal is to make someone's day a little better, a little brighter, and a lot more magical. It can be anything from giving a child a Mickey sticker to having an entire attraction sing happy birthday to someone. It sounds silly, but seeing these strangers light up with smiles makes my job worth all the negativity that comes with it.

The part that really gets to me though is when our guests make magical moments for me without knowing it.

blog lovelymissmegs megan
My two most recent examples are these:

One day when I was working at the Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute concert I looked across the promenade (the main pathway all around the World Showcase) and what I saw made my heart melt. There, right in front of the American Adventure was a man and his wife slow dancing to Tuesday's Gone. One second they were chatting about everyday things and then as soon as the song started up he wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her in to a tight embrace, cheek to cheek and they danced as if no one else existed but them. One might call me creepy, but I couldn't stop watching this older couple who were so in love with each other. He would kiss her on the forehead, or she would look at him and smile. Either way I was going "AAAAAAAWE" in my head the whole time and thinking to myself that this is what true love really looks like. How after so many years, two people could still be so in love with each other. It made my day.

My other magical moment happened only a few days ago and it was the most amazing memory I've had at Disney thus far. As I was greeting guests into our attraction I heard this small boy repeat over and over again "Star Wars Train! Star Wars Train!" My fellow cast mate and I looked at each other puzzled as to why the child kept saying that. We've had many guests think the entrance to our movie was a train station (how that is I don't know) but the fact that he kept saying Star Wars was what really confused us.

A few seconds later rotation was brought which meant I had to walk over the the Kidcot station to take up that position instead. As I was walking into the theatre behind the guests I could hear the little boy who was still repeating "Star Wars train! Star Wars train!" I jokingly made a comment saying "Star Wars is at Hollywood Studios buddy! This is our movie about Canada!" His dad then informed me that he had promised the boy that they would take the train to go ride Star Tours after they had finished visiting all the countries; and that Canada was their last country.

So I went over to the boy and knelt down so that I could be at his level when talking to him. I said "Hey! I hear you're really excited to be going to Star Wars! That's awesome because it's one of my favourite rides!" He smiled at me and when he saw that I had got down on my knee to talk to him he did the cutest thing ever and got on his knees to talk to me too. It was like our own secret conversation that no one could hear.

I then pointed to his Duffy bear (a colouring activity done at Kidcot) and told him how much I liked it and how proud I was that he had made it to all the countries! He waved it excitedly and thanked me but then mentioned that his Duffy was falling off the stick a bit. So of course I couldn't let that happen and I said "Well here's the deal, once you're done watching this movie I'm going to be sitting right outside at the table and when you come see me, I'm going to have a mickey sticker with your name on it to fix your Duffy up!"

Without hesitation the boy lept forward and gave me the biggest hug and screamed out thank you! At first I was shocked because the hug was completely unexpected but that soon faded because nothing is better than a hug from a child. I never in a million years would have thought that something as simple as using a sticker as tape could warrant such a response, but to this little boy it was if I saved his Duffy's life.

And while that sticker might have made his day, the hug he gave me will stay with me forever.

That ladies and gents is why no matter how many times I have to deal with a rude, angry, not funny or ignorant guest, I will never hate my job, because it's moments like these that make it all worthwhile.

Believe it or not, these photos are the only ones I've taken since being here. Unfortunately my DSLR is too heavy to lug around the theme parks and my small digital camera is lacking a charger so my first 2 months here are pretty much non-existant until I can find a place to get a new charger.

Thank god for instagram though. Even though the quality is crap it still lets me take photos (when I remember) so here are some of the things I've documented since coming here.

1. Chillin at gate 53 waiting to leave for Orlando
2. A picture of the plane being de-iced. I've never seen it happen before.
3. The clubhouse at the Commons which is the apartment complex I'm living in.
4. My Tinkerbell alarm clock I got as a going away gift and Mike's hard black cherry lemonade. I'd never seen this flavour before but I love it.
5. Canada, represent!
6. My kickass valentine's day card from Stephanie!
7. The Canadian Pavilion
8. The garden in the UK pavilion is gorgeous
9. I'm a lumberjack!

blog lovelymissmegs megan Disney CRP
1. Despite working during illuminations many, MANY time's I'd never actually stopped to watch the whole thing until recently.
2. Karaoke event for Epcot cast members! So much fun!
3. Celebrated my friend Amanda's birthday at T-rex.
4. My friends and I recently discovered the evil that is known as Four Loko.
5. Chilled with Aladdin and Jasmine on my day off.
6. Found pinapple marble pop at the Japanese pavilion! ^_^
7. The Flower and Garden festival is on at Epcot now so I took this picture of the Mater topiary for my sister who loves him.
8. At work we give out Duffy bears for kids to color, but some days I get really bored. So I made this Doctor Who duffy on one of the days I visited on my day off.
9. On Thursday night a group of friends and I decided to test out Sorcerers at Magic Kingdom. Most of us got bored shortly after, so we gave up and went on the rides and played games such as rock, paper, scissors, lizard, spock on space mountain and we sang along obnoxiously loud with the carousel of progress. Oh the life of a cast member. I love it!

Later lovelies!

I'm baaaaack! And I have so much to share that I'll have to break it down into 3 posts to spare you from reading an essay. So be prepared for a whole lotta Disney this week! (Apart from an awesome guest post that will be up on Valentine's day!)

First I'm going to start with week 1 of being here (that's the logical place to start right? haha) In our first few days we did a lot things that would be boring to read about like orientation, Walmart trips and unpacking so I'll spare you those details. However on our third day in Florida, my Canadian friends and I took full opportunity of our day off and headed over to Universal. It was awesome because we convinced them to give us the Florida Residents pricing on our annual passes so it was cheap! (My little sister would be so proud of me.)

blog lovelymissmegs megan disney crp canadian traditions
We hit up both of the Universal parks that day and focused on doing all the rides which was great because there were no line ups! (Off season is the BEST!) We also made a stop in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter because everyone wanted to try the butterbeer and visit Honeydukes.

blog lovelymissmegs megan disney crp canadian traditions
Then on Saturday (Feb 4th) we had our Disney Traditions class which was an 8 hour class going over the history, safety and basics that the Walt Disney Company has striven for over the years. Despite being in a classroom for 7 hours we had tons of fun. We took a field trip over to the Magic Kingdom, played some games, watched some videos, and we even had a surprise visitor; of course it was Mickey Mouse!

blog lovelymissmegs megan disney crp canadian traditions
Our Boss (aka the mouse) brought with him our official Disney name tags so that was the perfect ending to a long day of class! It also meant that I would be starting work the next day! But those stories will be reserved for another post!

Until then, have a magical day!

Well lovelies, today's the day I officially start my Disney Adventure! I'm so pumped right now, and a little bit sad, but that's to be expected when you're moving to another country for a year. I know I'm going to have a blast though, so here goes nothing!

As for my blog, I thought I would be fun to share some tips for flying since I'll be spending a good chunk of my morning at the airport/ on a plane.

*I want to preface this post with the acknowledgement that I am not a professional on planes or etiquette, I'm just an avid people watcher and frequent flyer. I've been on all sorts of flights before (some as short as 2 hours, and some as long as 24 so I feel pretty comfortable with everything I'm about to share) However I know some of you might disagree and I'm cool with that too! These are just the sorts of things I've noticed in my travels.

blog lovelymissmegs megan airplane

1. Sit where you're told: This is my biggest pet peeve, and it's one of the simplest tasks you can do. Step 1: look at your boarding pass. Step 2: look at what seat you are assigned to and Step 3: sit in THAT seat, not whichever seat you want! Nothing is more frustrating than being assigned a window or isle seat only to find someone has stolen it from you. This is not cool people. Instead try to book a window or isle seat ahead of time, or ask the clerk when you are checking in if they have any available seats that they can move you to instead.

2. The seating rule: This is just my theory and you can agree or disagree, but my view is such; if you have the window seat, be happy because not only do you get to look outside, but you have somewhere to rest your head if you want to sleep. If you are in an isle seat, you are fortunate because you have the isle for more leg space. Just be sure to be courteous of people walking by or the flight attendants with their carts. If you are in the middle, you should get both of the middle arm rests! Everyone else has an arm rest plus an added bonus, so I think it's only fair that you get both middle arm rests. Plus when the people on either side of the seat decide they want the inner arm rest it greatly decreases on the person in the middle's personal space.

3. No scents is good sense: Ok, this should go without saying but please make sure you are wearing deodorant! B.O. is not cool when you are in such close quarters and it will make everyone around you feel very uncomfortable. That being said, try not to wear any super strong perfumes/ colognes as well. Instead keep everything in moderation and if you really want to put on that strong perfume, then wait until you are off the plane. The same goes for eating anything with a super strong smell, for example cough drops. I know it might sound mean, but some people get headaches from strong smells, while others can be allergic all together. So try to keep your scents mild and it will make the flight enjoyable for those sitting around you.

4. Go to the bathroom BEFORE you board the plane: I sound like my mom when I say this but we all know there is always that one person who is guilty of breaking this rule! The only way I can excuse your need to go to the washroom on the plane is if you are on a long flight for example from Canada to Australia. But even then, you should still go BEFORE you leave so you cut your bathroom visits down. No one likes getting up when they're trying to watch a movie/ eat/ sleep. So please use your common sense.

5. Respect the flight attendants: These people are pretty much your maid, server, bar tender and parent for the duration of your flight so please be kind and patient with them. They have over 100 people to look after and are given a very small space to do it in. So be patient if you need them, and at the end of every flight be sure to flash them a smile and say "Thanks!"

6. Walk with your carry-on luggage in front of you:
When boarding the plane walk with your carry-on luggage in front of you and low to the ground. Often when people hold their purses over their shoulders or backpacks behind them they can accidentally hit nearby passengers. By keeping your carry-on in front of you, you will have more control of it's movements. And if you do accidentally hit someone just apologize nicely.

7. There's no need for a stampede: Once the plane has landed and the seat belt sign has been turned off, don't everyone rush to leave at once. Some people, like me, who are shorter need more time to get their luggage down from those overhead bins and if you are pushing forward it means we are either going to be trampled as you try and push through, or we will get yelled at for holding you up for a whole 15 seconds. If you are going to be in a rush, plan an extra 10 minutes into your arrival time. That being said, please don't take your sweet time to put your luggage away either.

8. If you see someone struggling, help them out: this tip goes along with #7 but if you see someone struggling with putting away or getting their luggage help them out. I'm sure they will really appreciate it. The same goes when filling out those customs forms. If the person beside you has never filled one out, or if they don't have a pen, then help them out instead of sitting there ignoring them. A little kindness goes a long way.

9. Look before you recline: I know it's tempting to push your seat back in full reclining position the moment you are able to, but be sure to check who's sitting behind you first. Does this person have a child on their lap? Are they in the middle of eating their meal? If so then try reclining your seat half way so that you both can be happy. And again, be sure to assess the situation before doing so! No one needs their kid to get hit in the head or a hot coffee on their lap!

10. Alcohol and altitude don't mix: I know it's tempting to have a few drinks before/ during the flight, and by all means go for it. I'm not here to rain on your parade. Just make sure you do it in moderation because you don't want to be the obnoxious drunk on the plane. Also keep in mind that the altitude of the plane will make the alcohol have a greater effect on your body so you will feel drunk faster.

However the most important thing to remember when flying is to just relax and have fun! Read a book, watch a movie, or have a nap because you spent the night before packing instead of sleeping (guilty!!!). Whatever it is you're doing or wherever it is you're going, I hope you will keep these tips in mind and always have a safe and happy trip!

Cheers everyone!
♥ Megan
I don't really have a lot to say today, other than peace out Canada! I love you, but now it's time to spread your awesomeness to all the people that visit Disney. (woo!) Only 15 hours to go, and believe it or not I'm almost packed! *gasp, shock, amazement* I know! I'm kind of proud of myself for that.

I also want to point out that I will probably be a ghost on the blog for the next week or so, but never fear because I have some AMAZING sponsors for February that you can check out on my sidebar. They will most definitely keep you inspired while I'm gone, and I'm so lucky to have them all! ♥

And finally, if you want to keep in touch with me I'll still be active on my twitter! And what's even cooler is I'll be able to participate in the instagram photo a day challenge that Chantelle of Fat Mum Slim has created. Just look at these prompts, and think how awesome it's going to be while I'm at Disney! haha

My Disney Look book! I also got my official offer of employment from Disney on Mickey Mouse letterhead. How cool is it to have official Disney mail? (Let me tell ya, it's pretty darn cool!)

Anyways, there's only 21 days until I leave guys! I really need to get my act in gear and start planning on what I need to pack. I have a feeling packing for a year abroad is going to be a lot harder than I anticipate.

Do any of you have pointers on packing for extended periods of time away from home? The longest I've ever been abroad was a month and even then my suitcase was pretty big!

Also, just to make things super exciting, Disney is having an event the night I get there called “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” Welcome Event where we can get our pictures taken with Toy Story characters, and there will be free food, drinks and dancing! *resisting the urge to explode with excitement*

Have a magical day everyone!

Ok so I had a fun vlog I was going to share today about the Disney interviews and how they went, but I would like to interrupt that scheduled posting for this one:
blog lovelymissmegs megan Disney Cultural Representative Program Canada Epcot
That's right ladies and gentlemen! I will officially be working at the Canadian Pavilion at Epcot from January 31st, 2012 - January 25th 2013 in Attractions!!! (which means I do the intro before the movie, I help people in and out of the theater, I get to do Kidcot which is arts and crafts with kids and I get to socialize with all the guests and talk about Canada!)

WORDS CANNOT EXPRESS HOW EXCITED I AM RIGHT NOW!

And here is a fun story of how I found out:

I noticed on Facebook one of the girls who applied got a start date so I was like "Congrats!" but secretly I was thinking, dammit I'm so jealous of you! But then I thought, oh, maybe I should check my e-mail while I'm on the computer (I was just about to head out to Michael's craft store)

Anyways, I looked in my inbox and it said 1 new message so I'm thinking ok what new promotion do Chapters or Blowfish have on (because I get emails from them almost daily.) Well oh man you should have seen my face when I saw the e-mail was from Kristen of Yummy jobs and it was titled "Walt Disney World"! Immediately my eyes widened and I nervously clicked on the email and this is what I saw:

blog lovelymissmegs megan Disney Cultural Representative Program Canada Epcot

Instantly I let out a huge gasp and my mom looks at me and is like "Megan!? What is it?! You almost gave me a heart attack!" I could barely answer her because had I proceeded to put my hands over my mouth, shake uncontrollably and cry because my heart just burst with love, excitement, shock and wonder! But I managed to squeak out "Disney just hired me!" ...and then I cried more happy tears. Yay!

And so, my Disney Journey begins! I'm so excited to start this new chapter in my life! And I can't wait to share it with all of you!

♥ Megan

P.S. Thank you SO MUCH to everyone who wished me good luck on my interview! It meant the world to me and it looks like it paid off!!! You're all so amazing! ♥

P.P.S. I just got the news like 30 minutes ago and am still shaking with excitement, so I apologize if parts of this post are confusing rambles... my mind is going a million miles per minute

Oh boy! Today's the day and I could not be any more excited!!! Or any more nervous.

As you read this I will have already done the following:

- Left the house at 4:45am
- Driven to Pearson Airport
- Flown to Montreal
- Taken a Taxi to the hotel
- Signed into the interviews and met some fellow applicants

And I'll probably be sitting through a video or presentation on the Disney experience while you're drinking your morning coffee! SO COOL! (ok well except the SUPER EARLY start to my day)

I'll fill you in on the rest of my day when I get back from Montreal!

Later gators!

Today I'm going to share 2 videos of the Canadian Pavilion at Epcot because I feel like it's been months since I last talked about applying to Disney. Interviews are coming up in less than a month, and my heart and head are in constant competition. My heart is so full of love and excitement that I could probably cry tears of joy, however my head is like, keep it cool Megan. Don't jinx it, and focus on getting hired first.

So while I wait in what feels like eternal limbo I like to watch videos of the Pavilion and vlogs of people who have worked there just to get some background information on it.

This first video is a tour of the Pavilion so you can see what the landscape and buildings look like. I've never been to Epcot, so this was exciting for me to see:

And then there is this video which my friend sent me:

Don't they look like a fun group of people?!

I shared this video with my fellow CRP applicants and they've already made jokes, saying that we need to make our own horribly lip synced video if we get hired. So who knows, maybe in the distant future I'll be the one prancing around in a lumberjack uniform singing Disney classics. I think it would be fun to do!

But first thing's first... I need to get hired! haha

Have a magical day!

The Canadian Pavilion at Epcot

Tomorrow at 9:30am I will be taking part in an informal interview for Yummy Jobs. What this means is they want to get to know me and my past experiences to see if I'm good for the program. If they like what they hear and want to get to know me more I'll be invited to the next round which are the in-person interviews this November in Montreal. (I know I've mentioned this before, but it doesn't hurt to reiterate).

Oh boy, here we go! I can't wait to write about this whole process! I've been searching the internet for advice on applying but the only thing I can find are the stories of people once they became members of the Cultural Representative Program. No one has really taken the time to write out the whole application process so that's what I've decided to do. I'm hoping in the future if anyone wants to apply to the program they can use my blog as a reference point and as a place to ask questions.

Until then, does anyone have any pointers for phone interviews? Are they really that different from in-person ones?

I just received an email from Yummy Jobs that said I've made it to the next round for the Disney Cultural Representative job! Up next is a phone interview! How exciting! I've never done a phone interview and am SUPER awkward to talk to over the phone, but here's hoping I'm good enough for them to want to send me to the third round which means I get to travel to Montreal for an in person interview.

Oh boy. Fingers crossed all goes well.

Also, I'm dying my hair today... I need a change from the red. I've had it for 5 years now.... can you guess what colour it's going to be?

I made it to the next round!

I've done it! I've officially applied to the Cultural Representative Program at Disney and I couldn't be any more nervous! You see, I've been having the worst luck trying to find a job this summer and it has me all bummed out. I've never had this much trouble getting a job! I'm really hoping Disney changes all that though. I mean how cool would it be to work there for a year? My friend already did this program and she said it was awesome! So awesome in fact that she applied for the summer program this year and is currently working there.

Honestly though, I'm SO nervous. I really do think I'd be perfect to work there, but who knows what they are looking for?! I just want to be a part of this program SO badly!

Oh well, even if I don't get the job, at least I get to cross something off my To Do list for the summer! Yee-haw!

Anyways, because I was teaching myself how to write a CV for this application (we don't do those in Canada) I kind of missed out on My Favourite Things Monday yesterday. So I'm sorry to anyone who looks forward to those every week.

On top of that my sister and I were busy with this project last night as a sort of gift to my mom. Well, not gift, but we did all the work and thought up the idea and such. It's a huge collage on the wall of photos and the words Live, Love, Laugh.

My sister will probably kill me for posting this picture since her hair is back in weird pigtails, but I wanted to show just how huge the collage is in comparison to a person.
My mom really loved it when it was all done, so I'm super happy about that. What makes it super fun though is the fact that all the pictures are baby/ little kid pictures of my sisters and I. No 13yr old+ pictures allowed! We also found some super cool black and white photos of my mom when she was a kid. One with my grandpa and one with her mom when she was a baby. The picture with her mom is kind of a bitter sweet one since she passed away when my mom was 9, but it's nice to have a reminder of this gorgeous lady whom I never met and who gave birth to my wonderful mommy. Honestly, my mom's mom was quite the fashionable lady. It must be where my little sister gets all her fashion sense from.

We then took a picture of the wall so we could remember exactly where to put the pictures again once mom has painted the walls. While taking the picture though we noticed just how cool of a backdrop it is! It's like we're in our own art gallery which is super cool. My little sister said we should have a mini photoshoot in front of it one day so maybe I'll post those when we do.

Anyways that's just my little update on life right now.

Wish me luck!
