Apple Picking at the Farm

Not to toot my own horn, but I was totally right when I said that Sunday would be the perfect day. Apple picking, antique shopping, and baking. It couldn't get any better than that!

I was definitely surprised when we got to the farm though. Normally Greg and I go strawberry picking at Pingle's in the summer and it's always been dead. So you can imagine our surprise when we pulled up and there was almost no parking. I can't blame everyone for going though, the weather was gorgeous and they have a ton of fall activities to experience. We even picked 20lbs of apples! Yup, that's right, 20lbs!

They had a fun farm for kids to play with animals, a puppet show, a corn maze, pick your own apples and a wagon ride that takes you straight to the pumpkin patch!

Walking through the orchard we soon realized apple picking would be harder than we thought because all the good apples were at the tops of the trees. This meant that Greg had to do most of the picking since I'm a shorty. I didn't mind though, we had some good teamwork going since he would climb the trees and hand me the apples to put in our bag.

Would you believe I didn't alter this photo?! The apples were just that bright and gorgeous!

I finally found a tree that had apples I could reach and then I took a picture of Greg holding our bag o' apples in case you were curious as to what 20lbs of apples looks like! Note: It's a LOT! Look how it's almost the size of his torso!

When we were done we watched the wagon ride coming back from the pumpkin patch and then we caught the tail end of a fun show where they fire pumpkins out of a canon! Yay for blowing stuff up! I even took a short video of it so you all could see :)

On our way home from the farm we stopped by an antique shop which was actually 4 barns filled with gorgeous antique furniture, and we found a super cool WW2 Parachute bag. Unfortunately everything there was overpriced so we headed back to Greg's place and baked multiple apple crisps for his family all night.

Today is going to be another fun day too! I'm meeting with Greg and he's going to help me with my first ever video tutorial which you will get to see later this week! Yay! Then we're off to a restaurant called The Burbs which his sister raves about on a weekly basis.

Oh, and don't forget my October blog party starts this weekend! I'm SOOO STOKED and I can't wait to start this party! I've already got the first 2 posts lined up and they are good ones! Trust me!

Cheers!
♥ Megan
